Pledge Card for Currency of Place
We have been exploring the currency of place, both internal and external, in the last few weeks. These activities were like making an inventory of the assets that you have, not just the physical properties, but also the blessings and wellness that these places provide. This week, you are invited to explore how you can further offer these places for ministries which will continue the flow of blessings in specific ways and then commit to making it happen by making a pledge.
Answer the following questions and then fill out the pledge card.
- Name a ministry in your church that can be enhanced by having a better space or location within your church’s properties:
- In what ways can you help to renovate, beautify or refurbish this place?
- If you own or rent any properties, list them here:
- In what ways can you offer the use of one of these properties for ministries? Which ministry would be a good match for this place?
- List spaces you have access to (home, workplace, public spaces, etc.)
- In what ways can you make one of these places available for ministries? Which ministry would be a good march for this space?
Find an Accountable Person (AP) for this pledge card. He/she/they can be the same AP you have been reporting to or the AP of the last pledge card but can be someone else. It would be fun to explain to a new AP what you are doing.
Color the pledge card and make it unique and beautiful. Take a photo and send it to the person who oversees stewardship ministry in your community. If this person doesn’t know what the pledge card is for, you will have the opportunity to explain what you (and your group) are doing.
If you are doing this with a small group: Gather your group, share experiences of the last few weeks and work on the pledge cards together. Remember to practice presenting the Respectful Communication Guidelines and use Mutual Invitation.
Talk to your AP soon about the fantastic progress you have made in the currencies of Truth, Place, and Wellness.
