Year End Holy Currencies

How did you do with your Holy Currencies in 2018?

 

As we approach the end of 2018, I found it helpful to review the year using the Holy Currencies framework.  This comprehensive look at the ways I had used and developed these currencies will help me set some blessing goals (new year resolutions) for 2019.  

If you want to try it, I have created a chart for you to evaluate your currencies in 2018.  Take each currency and reflect on how you had strengthened and maximized it in exchange for blessings for self, others, the community, and the earth.  Then, reflect on the weaknesses and struggles you had with that currency through the year.  Finally, set some goals for maximizing the use of that currency and to develop it further so that more blessings may flow in 2019.

This will be too much to do in one day.  Try reflecting on one currency per day for the next 7 days (skipping the Christmas busy days) and that should take you to New Year’s Eve.  Hopefully, you will have your 2019 blessing goals to celebrate on New Year Day!

Invitation to Draw on Holy Currencies in 2019

As we approach the end of 2018, I invite you to consider making a New Year’s resolution to “draw” on your Holy Currencies in 2019.  My nephew, Dave Law and I published Drawing on Holy Currencies which consists of 52 weeks of activities, and when you do them faithfully, you will become an awesome, amazing, and animated steward of God’s creation.

You will be an awesome steward because what you give and receive is not just money but also relationship, truth, time, place, gracious leadership, and wellness.  

 

You will be an amazing steward because you know who you are, what you have, where you have influence, and what you are willing to give and receive to foster wellness for yourself, your community, and the earth.

 

You will be an animated steward because you are using your whole being in doing these activities – reading, writing, drawing, listening, imagining, meditating, singing, dancing, seeing reality, speaking truth, hugging friends, walking the neighborhood, shaking hands with neighbors, facing enemies, and blessing places.

 

Many of my friends and I will be doing the weekly activities beginning the first week of January 2019.  We invite you to join us each week to write, draw, color, sing and act.  We can start a movement to be amazing stewards together. I will be blogging through The Sustainist about my and others’ reflection on the week’s activities. You might even want to give this gift as Christmas presents or get a group of your friends to work through the book together this year.
